Disney Childhood

During my trip in Korea this summer, I had my nails professionally done at a nail salon. I chose to have gel nails because it will last longer and is more worth it for the price. =D

I picked a Mickey Mouse design because it was so cute and chic at the same time. I especially liked the rainbow Mickey Mouse on my fourth finger because it looks so cool and pretty. There is also a mickey hand accessory in on the thumb which looks good but it was actually quite annoying to have because it kept getting caught in things and was very bulky. The texture is also very smooth and shiny from the gel.

Overall, I was happy with the experience and the designs. I would definitely do it again or maybe even try it out at home by myself.

Etude House have actually released their Complete Gel Nail Polish System with UV Lamp that you can do at home and it looks very fun.

However, right now they only have a limited amount of colours available so I hope they will have more colours, accessories and nail art polish later on.

Here's how you use the kit if you're interested in getting one.

In terms of pricing, the UV machine retails for 80,000 wons (around £45) and the set with the machine, one top coat, one base coat, nail remover, nail cleanser is priced at 99,000 wons (around £55).

They also have the Enamelting Gel Nail Polishes available now at the price of $7.20 each, which is about £5 and they have many more colours available.

REVIEW - Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I am back with another review since I haven't done one in ages!

I am sure you have all heard about how amazing the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution Cleansing Water is. Garnier has took the same idea and came up with their own version of make up remover that is like water, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.

Here is what it claims to do...
Like a magnet. the cleansing agents capture and lift away dirt from the skin without rubbing to remove impurities and make up. This product gives you the result of perfectly cleansed and refreshed skin without rubbing or rinsing. Use during the day as toner to refresh skin and removes make-up, cleanse and soothe during the night. It also comes in a 400ml format that allows you to have up to 200 uses.

Directions...
Pour some product on a cotton pad and wipe it on your face to remove as much of the makeup as possible on your face.

This makeup remover is supposed to remove everything including face, eyes and lips makeup. It was dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested which means it is tested on human skin and also around the eye area so it should be extra safe for people with sensitive skin to use. They also mentioned that it does not contain any perfume so it is great for people who hate using products that has a strong scent or is actually allergic to it.

Products used - Sephora Lipstick, Peri Pera Lip Ink, Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Edge Meister Mascara, Etude House Play101 Pencils, Etude House Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner, Maybelline Smokey Eye Pencil, Aritaum Full Cover Concealer and Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation.

Here I have some eyeliner, waterproof mascara, lip tint, lipstick, concealer and foundation on my hand and lets see how well this work.

This is the result after the first wipe. As you can see it removed all of the foundation and concealer but only part of the eyeliner, mascara, lip tint and lipstick was removed.

This is after I wiped it continuously for a few times (pretty much rubbing it) and as you can see the result is not great. It barely removed the blue eyeliner from Etude House and there were still a lot of the mascara remaining on my hand. However, it did make my hand feel much more refreshed and soft, although it felt quite dry afterwards.

I would not recommend this product if you are planning to use it as your main makeup remover when you have eyeliner, mascara and lipstick on. I don't know if is because of the products I use which are too good/strong for this product to remove or what but whenever I try to remove my mascara with this, it never comes off. However, this is a great product just to remove your foundation or concealer.

PS, my go to mascaras are from Japanese brands like Kiss Me and Majolica Majorca since they make my eyelashes stay curled all day and actually lengthens my lashes very well.

There is a review here if you're interested..

Scent - This product's smell is not very strong since it does not contain perfume but it does have this water, floral scent to it that some people may not like. However, it does go away after a few seconds of application.

Packaging - I think the packaging is very similar to the Bioderma one (almost like a dupe) with its see-through clear, water bottle like container and a redy/pink cap. However the way the cap is designed is very hard to use because the bottle is quite heavy so when you pour it on the cotton pad, you will most likely to spill some so you have to be careful using it. When you purchase it, it is also not sealed so imagine the amount of people who would open the cap and sniff it and then close it back up with all the bacteria around the cap, so it is not very hygienic and should be something they should improve on.

Price - You can buy this product in any of the 'drugstore' in the UK like Superdrug or Boots or some supermarkets. It is normally priced at £4.99 but they do go on sale quite often for prices like £3.29, £2.99 etc. I believe that this is a great option as a dupe product of Bioderma because of how cheap it is, though it may not work as well as the original Bioderma version.

Would I repurchase this product?

Honestly speaking, no because it doesn't do what I want it to do and I personally do not like it as a toner either as it is drying and does not close up my pores well.

DIY - How to Make your own BB Cushion

Hello, I am back with another DIY tutorial!
This time I would be showing you how to create your own BB cushion.

What is a BB Cushion?
BB cushion uses the same formula as a BB cream. The only difference with a BB cushion is the way it is packaged. BB cushion is in a compact form instead of in a tube. Inside the compact, there is a sponge that was soaked with BB cream which allows you to apply it to your face in ease with a polyurethane puff (air puff) that comes with the compact. This puff/sponge will also allow the product to be applied very smooth and flawlessly.

If you don't already know, BB cushions are extremely popular in Korea. Almost every girl owns one and almost no one uses the traditional BB cream that comes in a tube anymore. This is all because of how easy it is to use and how much time it can save you while applying your foundation.

Since BB cushions are so popular in Korea, therefore pretty much every brand has their own version. However, they are not exactly cheap especially when they do run out quite quickly so if you would like to save some money and maybe create your own BB cushion with your favourite BB cream and have the right shade then read on.

Things that you'll need

- A Used/New BB Cushion Case (I bought mine on eBay, but it can also be found on W2Beauty)
- BB Cream or Foundation
- CC Cream or BCD Cream
- Primer
- Your Favourite Serums
- Highlighter (optional)
- Toothpick
- Cleansing Wipes
Product Used - Tony Moly BCDation All Master Foundation, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation, Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream, Miss Age Snail Anti-Wrinkle Serum, The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Make Up Base in Violet, Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Cinema City Multi CC Cream, DRAN Wonder Serum for Nourishing and Revitalizing.
Here I have used a BB cream and 2 foundations because the BB cream is too dark and orange-toned for me so I used the foundation to make it lighter in shade and more yellow to suit my skin tone. By using a foundation, it allowed the formula to be higher in coverage.

I have also used a CC cream so it will further provide a more even skin tone and give me more skincare goodies.

By adding a primer, it can lighten the shade to suit my face and makes my BB cream stay on for longer.

I have also added some serums so it will also provide some good nutrients for my face despite the fact that this is a foundation. This also makes the formula more watery so it can be soaked up more easily by the sponge.

Let's Start!

Firstly, take out the sponge inside the empty container and squeeze all the products you wanted to have in your BB cushion into the container according to your preference. My advice here is to not put in too much primer and serum so the coverage will be higher. You should also make sure you only fill 1/3 to almost half of the container with product so it won't overflow when you put the sponge back in.

Secondly, mix all the products together with a toothpick.

Then, place the sponge back in the container carefully and make sure that the products are  soaked up well.

Lastly, clean around the container with cleansing wipes.
Now, you have your own tailor-made BB cushion to use.
