UPDATE: Cutting my hair short again

Hi all! Sorry for the lack of update... I have been extremely busy moving in and starting at university these few months!

Today, I wanted to give you guys an update on my hair.
As many will probably know from a lot of my previous photos and posts that I had long hair with dip dye that I experimented lots of colours with. A few months ago, I thought I needed a change and start of fresh so I decided to do something different to my hair again. This time I decided to cut it short like I had before since the ends are becoming quite damaged from all the dying and experimenting with different colours.

This is what my hair looked like before I cut it all off. It was long till my waist and the tips are faded to a gingery, green colour, which I thought was quite cool and interesting. However, despite the interesting looking colour that was achieved unintentionally... It does feel like hay as it is so damaged so it needs to be chopped off very soon.

If you haven't already read my post on the transition from a deep purple colour to the green it is here... Take a look!

This is what it looked like when I first had it cut. It was just a straight cut and it was short enough to have all of my coloured cut off.

Here is what it looks like now with it slightly longer and dyed to a very subtle brown colour.

If you're interested in what hair colour dye I used...
It is The Face Shop Hair Colour in Icy Rose Pink (6P). This dye was pretty bad and not much colour has shown through (nothing like the colour on the box) but it did managed to tone my hair to more of a brown colour than having it very dark brown/black before when it was natural.

TRAVEL - Hong Kong

If you haven't already read my post on what I did in Seoul then you should check it out first!

The first stop during my summer holiday was in Seoul, Korea for 16 days then I flew over to Hong Kong afterwards for another 9 days.

I booked this whole trip by myself, unlike what I did for Seoul. This means that I got to choose the flight and the place I would like to stay at myself, though of course I am just going with the cheapest and the ones that is worth the money more.

I flew with HK Express, which is a low budget airline that allows you to add on and pay extra for luggage space and food. The prices were quite cheap and I totally recommend it if you're a student or wants to save money because you can totally choose how much you want and the amount you want to spend according to your budget. However, I bought a little too much in Seoul and wanted to increase my luggage space online (just a few days before flying) and they wouldn't let you, so you would have to just stick to the price plan that they will charge on the spot when you check in. I didn't have to pay extra at the end because my friend was being very nice and helped me carry some stuff back to the UK for me.

In terms of hotel, I went for Airbnb and booked a hostel room to stay. It was my first experience with Airbnb and the booking was quite pleasant. I booked a room for two for£30 per night because it was originally meant to be a trip for two people but one dropped out half way so I just travelled alone. The place is located in Jordan and I felt the neighbourhood was quite safe since Jordan can be a dodgy place to be living in. It was just off Nathan Road so it was very easy to travel to place with the MTR station being just 5 minutes walk away and a bunch of bus stops right outside. You could even walk to Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok if you wanted to. You just had to follow the long Nathan Road.

However, despite it being a decent location, the room was quite dirty and when I moved it, it seemed like they didn't even change the bed sheets which is kind of disgusting. The floor was dusty and I had to basically bring out my trusty Dettol wipes to sanitise everything before using them. I also had a cockroach in my room one night and that scared the hell out of me and my friend who stayed with me for the night. On top of the hygiene, the security was not very good either. They do have a guard at the front entrance at basically any time of the day but the combination code to enter my room was so simply that I felt like anyone could enter my room and take my stuff when I was out. The password was also online on the Airbnb website therefore it was not safe at all. The odd numbered lift also broke down twice or three times during my 9 days stay and I had to carry my suitcases down a flyer of stairs to get to the room or a lift while moving in and leaving the place since the room is located on the 9th floor.

Other than that, I did have a good time and met some new friends that I do still have contact with now. I do wish to go back to Hong Kong another time but this time I would definitely do it with a friend or something as travelling alone is not that fun, especially when you're a girl which can be quite dangerous.

TRAVEL - Seoul

My Travelling Experience in Seoul

If you have read my previous post about what I have bought in Seoul, then you obviously knew I travelled to South Korea recently. Here is a rough idea of how my trip was and where I have managed to visit and what type of food I tried etc..

I travelled to Seoul during mid July and stayed there for 16 days in total. I booked my trip on Expedia and I flew with Air China, which had a stopover of 2 hours inbetween at Beijing from London to Seoul. Air China was one of the worst long haul flight I have been on before. The service was terrible, food didn't taste that nice and you have to deal with people from the Mainland and their loudness. During the sleeping hours on the plane, we had 2 Chinese men having a super loud conversation at the back of the plane and people could barely sleep but yet no staff did anything about that. I also had a horrible check-in service at the airport in London. Despite the service and people, the entertainment on flight was also terrible! The remotes are so worn out that the buttons could not be pressed properly and even though you can press it and control it, the screen is mega blurry and pretty much nothing could be watched on it.

I stayed at Apple Tree Guest House in Mapo-gu and the owner was very nice! He waited and welcomed us even when we arrived at 1am due to the delays we had, not mentioning that he also helped us with our luggages and things. This place is quite decent to stay at. Almost everything you will need is provided by the owner, such as tea, coffee, plates, cups, washing machine, washing powder etc. This place is very homely and it feels very friendly. We have been going 'home' pretty late every single day and it still felt very safe in the neighbourhood so I will definitely consider living there again next time I visit Korea. Travelling was also pretty easy as the subway station is right outside and Hongdae is only about 20 minutes walk away.

HAUL - Make Up from Seoul & HK

Face

BB Cushions are one of the must buy items since they are so popular over there due to how easy it is to use and how much time it can save you. Since the air puffs that come with the BB cushions do get dirty pretty easily, I have also stocked up on them. I bought mine from Daiso (asian dollar store equivalent) which is much cheaper than ones in actual cosmetic shops and the quality is very similar.

Eyes

TIP  - I would recommend you research online and read reviews to see what products are good before you visit Korea as there are so many different brands and products to choose from. It is always good to go with a list of items you would like to try to make everything easier while shopping.

If you didn't already know, Etude House Play 101 pencils are the best as they are multi-purpose pencils where you can use it on your eyes, lips and face. They come in a huge range of colours and textures. If you're someone who likes to experiment then those are worth getting your hands on. They also don't budge once it has dried therefore they are very long lasting and the pigmentation is great too. Totally worth it for its price - 6,000 won each (some colours were 50% off).

Lips

Lip tints are a must if you're into lip products. Korea is the best place to invest in them as they all usually work very well and for quite cheap. They also come in different forms like water, jelly, stick, lip pack, cream and others. For example, the Holika Holika Waterdrop Tint comes in a stick form but once you apply it you will feel this very refreshing and cooling effect as if you actually put some cold water on your lips. It will be easily to choose if you read up on them before hand so you know how to use them and how good the colour pay off is.
