I am back with another review since I haven't done one in ages!
I am sure you have all heard about how amazing the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution Cleansing Water is. Garnier has took the same idea and came up with their own version of make up remover that is like water, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
Here is what it claims to do...
Like a magnet. the cleansing agents capture and lift away dirt from the skin without rubbing to remove impurities and make up. This product gives you the result of perfectly cleansed and refreshed skin without rubbing or rinsing. Use during the day as toner to refresh skin and removes make-up, cleanse and soothe during the night. It also comes in a 400ml format that allows you to have up to 200 uses.
Directions...
Pour some product on a cotton pad and wipe it on your face to remove as much of the makeup as possible on your face.
This makeup remover is supposed to remove everything including face, eyes and lips makeup. It was dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested which means it is tested on human skin and also around the eye area so it should be extra safe for people with sensitive skin to use. They also mentioned that it does not contain any perfume so it is great for people who hate using products that has a strong scent or is actually allergic to it.
Here I have some eyeliner, waterproof mascara, lip tint, lipstick, concealer and foundation on my hand and lets see how well this work.
This is the result after the first wipe. As you can see it removed all of the foundation and concealer but only part of the eyeliner, mascara, lip tint and lipstick was removed.
This is after I wiped it continuously for a few times (pretty much rubbing it) and as you can see the result is not great. It barely removed the blue eyeliner from Etude House and there were still a lot of the mascara remaining on my hand. However, it did make my hand feel much more refreshed and soft, although it felt quite dry afterwards.
I would not recommend this product if you are planning to use it as your main makeup remover when you have eyeliner, mascara and lipstick on. I don't know if is because of the products I use which are too good/strong for this product to remove or what but whenever I try to remove my mascara with this, it never comes off. However, this is a great product just to remove your foundation or concealer.
PS, my go to mascaras are from Japanese brands like Kiss Me and Majolica Majorca since they make my eyelashes stay curled all day and actually lengthens my lashes very well.
There is a review here if you're interested..
Scent - This product's smell is not very strong since it does not contain perfume but it does have this water, floral scent to it that some people may not like. However, it does go away after a few seconds of application.
Packaging - I think the packaging is very similar to the Bioderma one (almost like a dupe) with its see-through clear, water bottle like container and a redy/pink cap. However the way the cap is designed is very hard to use because the bottle is quite heavy so when you pour it on the cotton pad, you will most likely to spill some so you have to be careful using it. When you purchase it, it is also not sealed so imagine the amount of people who would open the cap and sniff it and then close it back up with all the bacteria around the cap, so it is not very hygienic and should be something they should improve on.
Price - You can buy this product in any of the 'drugstore' in the UK like Superdrug or Boots or some supermarkets. It is normally priced at £4.99 but they do go on sale quite often for prices like £3.29, £2.99 etc. I believe that this is a great option as a dupe product of Bioderma because of how cheap it is, though it may not work as well as the original Bioderma version.
Would I repurchase this product?
Honestly speaking, no because it doesn't do what I want it to do and I personally do not like it as a toner either as it is drying and does not close up my pores well.
