HOW TO - The Best Way to Wash your Beauty Blender and Sponges

There are many ways of washing your beauty blender or sponges. Some use the method of how you would wash your brushes (olive oil and dishwashing soap), some use cleansing oil but have you realised that they take a very long time wash out and get it clean? Even so, they don't seem completely clean...

Well, I am here to make your life 10x easier!

This method requires your dirty sponges, puff or beauty blender, some water(best under a tap) and a bar of soap. I can guarantee that your sponges will look as good as new after!

Let's Start!

Here are the dirty, used beauty blenders.

As you can see, there are quite a bit of product stained on.

TIP - do wash them quite regularly otherwise the stains are harder to remove. Who wants a spotty face from all the germs and bacteria in their sponges right?

Grab your bar of soap and run it under the tap to allow it to lather up. I am using the Dettol soap bar here because I wanted that anti-bacterial function and of course Dettol sure is a brand to trust in terms of that. But you can use any brands that you wish to use.

Then you would want to rub your sponge on the soap bar along with some water so the foam will penetrate into the inside of ur sponge. You don't have to stay on the tap the whole time. Just make sure you have enough moisture for the soap to lather and fill the sponge.

Now, you just rub and squeeze the foam until you see that your sponge is clean.

TA-DA! Now you have a sponge that is just as good as new! This literally takes me 20 seconds, so it's definitely worth cleaning it every few times you've used it! This method also requires less tugging and squeezing as the foam does all the work for you, so your sponge will last longer in the long run too.

TIP - If you don't like the scent of the soap bar u have as it could be a bit strong when you have it around ur face, you can just quickly rinse it with an old face wash or some soap you have lying around. That will get rid of the smell because I know Dettol does have a very strong sense and it is not so pleasant to have it around my face.

Don't you just feel so happy when u have new looking, clean sponges? It feels so much better and you're not putting dirt back into your skin which causes break outs.

Same goes to the puffs that comes with cushion compacts. You don't want to keep using that puff and not wash it. With this, after you finish your refill, you can still keep the puff for other uses such as for your sunscreen or as spares. (because you know how easily they break!)

This is what it looks like after the same cleaning process with the soap bar. It literally looks new!

Hope you like this! =)

I know the photos aren't as good because I shot these with another camera of mine and I've only realised the photos are not as high quality looking with the dark edges and colours . I will go back to my old camera for future posts!
