DIY - How to Distressed Jeans

Since ripped/distressed jeans were so popular recently I have decided to create a DIY tutorial on how you can make your own with a pair of old jeans at home. This is great because it means that you don't have to spend so much getting a pair of these in store and it also allow you to recycle your old jeans that you got bored of.

Let's Start

Firstly, you'll need...
1) A pair of old Jeans (or new if you wish)
2) A pair of Fabric Scissors
3) A Tweezers

Use your fabric scissor and cut a few straight lines to where you want the hole to be and cut according to the width you want it to split apart. It is best to cut the line a little bit smaller than you wish to look like because it will stretch after it has been distressed, making it seem bigger.

Then use the tweezers and start taking some of the thread out. If you look closely, you will be able to see that the fabric is made into a piece of cloth using the method weaving (overlapping the thread with each other). You should always take out the shorter thread.

You will slowly see the fabric becoming frayed like this. To complete the distressed look, you can fray the edges even more with a nail filer or with the fabric scissors to achieve a better result.

TIP: You just got to be rough with it.

Here are the final results to the ones I have distressed.
